Great first book
Goodnight Moon
My almost 2 year old loves this book. Personally I really struggled with ever wanting to read this book since it seemed so boring, but its a great first book for the little ones. THey pick up on something different each time. This has been one of our night time favorites and I can see why people love it so much. It took till he was about 15 months before he liked this story, but it is perfect for a kid as early as a year.

Large Book requires adult supervision!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
This is a beautiful book, lots of pop ups and intricate detail. however it is not for your little one to read alone, not unless you want your pop ups destroyed. Great visual aids for children if you are reading to them, pricey but a worthwhile investment. If you want a book for your child to read I suggest the board book version of this one.

This is a great book
As a Man Thinketh
The principles taught in this book are true. It is not a book written to replace scripture or attempting to mind force future events in your life. It is a book written to explain how to have a happy and productive life, to have control over your own emotions and thoughts, and yes, it is proven that good things do happen when one goes through life with faith, hope, and a good attitude. The precepts taught in this book are not radical and are beneficial to anyone who applies them, and are completely free of bigotry towards other ideas and theories.
Very pleasant and interesting reading, thought provoking and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book to the young and to the not so young.

Moleskine Large Notebook Journal
Moleskine Ruled Notebook Large
I wanted to start a Journal for my Granddaughter. Of course I've kept diaries in the past, such as my teenage years, but I wanted this one to be special. After doing many searches online, I found this Moleskine Journal. It has a nice, sleek but plain look, so I thought I'd try it. My reaction? I ended up buying 3 more the day after receiving the first one! It's PERFECT! I read the other customer reviews about which pens work best with the paper in this Journal, and I immediately ordered a bunch of the Pilot G-2 pens (based on another customer's review), and these pens work best (my "ordinary" pen was smudging in the Journal). The pages are nice (I think there're 250 pages per book), the ones I purchased (large) are the perfect size I want (they fit in my handbag), and the Journal itself is just wonderful...no gimmicky look, no teen-ager-y locks, just a plain, sleek-looking Journal. If you're thinking of starting a Journal, or even using this as a store list or To-Do list keeper, I'd highly recommend the Moleskine large.

Lacking Depth & Warning to Students & Instructors
A Topical Approach to Lifespan Development
Although this textbook provides a decent account of life-span development, the third edition provided more depth. I appreciate the updated research included in the 5th edition; there are studies cited from 2010. The first half of the book is more interesting but becomes too general as it progresses. If you are an instructor using this book in your course, make sure to include supplemental readings; otherwise, your students will not fully grasp many of the theories touched on in the textbook.

Students using this book, beware: there are practice quizzes you can take online as a service provided by the textbook company; however, you won't find all of the answers in your 5th edition, but the answers are in the third edition. The textbook company did not update most of their questions for the 5th edition textbook, and huge chunks of the 3rd edition textbook are missing from the 5th.

Instructors need to be aware of the quiz questions provided by the company when they order the book. Many of the answers to the questions cannot be found in the fifth edition. Students need the third edition or maybe even the fourth edition to find the answers. If you decide to use their quiz questions, make sure you can find the answers in the fifth edition before administering the quizzes to your students. The company will assure you that they have updated the answers and questions, but I can cite multiple instances where that is far from true. For example, they have questions about research and terms which are not in the 5th edition but can easily be found in the 3rd edition. My advice: make your own quiz and test questions.

A new story every time
Good Night Gorilla
This story is great now for my 10 month old. He loves the pictures (there's very little text). I haven't made anything up sing songy to go with it, but I could. When he can talk, it'll be even more awesome because he can come up with his own narration and have a new story every time.
