Recieved my Kindle on the day stated it would arrive. Once connected to my WiFi the Kindle seemlessly downloaded books and I was reading in seconds after each download. Great how it remembers each page last read in a book and the easy reference links to the dictionary which came with the Kindle. Have added map pdf's through the USB link for quick trail map display while hiking, it's size and weight is good to put in a day pack or large pocket. The beta format web browser is also good if a little slow. All in all a worthy purchase.

I got the Kindle 3 yesterday & it's an absolute delight. I almost stayed awake the whole night exploring it & enjoying the reading experience. If you are a voracious reader & you enjoy the company of books as dearly as a teenage boy does his X-Box then this is "The" device for you. Light-weight, small dimensions, aesthetic appeal, high contrast & intuitive controls make it stand head & shoulders above the rest. With a price to die for, the Kindle 3 is certainly a e-reader-killer. Bottomline - I won't be surprised if the category gets renamed as Kindle much the same way Xerox for photocopying.

I keep hearing a lot of comparison between Kindle & iPad. I find that extremely annoying. It's like comparing apples with oranges, almost literally. I am a big fan of everything Apple. Both iPad & Kindle are revolutionary devices. But they are 2 completely different devices & to compare them would reflect nothing but naivety. iPad is a revolutionary way to browse the web, watch movies, listen to music, play games & "also" read books. The all important word is "also". The Kindle 3 is all about books, books & books. Of course it can do much more than that but the primary function is giving you the best reading experience at a great price.

So iPad & Kindle can certainly co-exist in the hands & minds of the customers. At the moment it's the Kindle which is in my hand inviting me to a vicarious world.

This is a very well made cover. The inside is a soft sort of felt and the outside is a durable leather. I like the elastic closure a lot. When you open the cover and fold it back you can use the elastic to secure the cover open, very cool. The other nice thing is that it is very easy to remove the Kindle from the cover if you prefer to read it with out a cover on. All in all an excellent cover. I would highly recommend it if you can decide which color to get. I got the burgundy red and it is really a deep, true red. Very nice color.

I want to thank all the people that have reviewed this item and the only thing I want to add is about the battery life. I fell asleep reading last night about 2000 hours and the kindle was on my lap. I woke up at 0430 hours this morning, the kindle was on the floor, where I had apparently had it slip off my lap during the night, but it was not damaged and the light was still burning. To my surprise, I found that extremely little of the battery had been used with it on approximately 8 1/2 hours. Those that want to know about battery life, I don't think you need worry. This is a terrific item which gets rid of all other type of lighting. Thank you or whomever designed it.

I don't know how long it'll last but it's cheap and it works perfectly.

I had to wait almost two weeks for it because it got lost in the mail. But the replacement arrived in like 1-2 days.

Many have already spoken in glowing terms about these Basics HDMI cables. I'm so glad I found this product line, since I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cable I received when it arrived at my door.

The cable is of very high quality, compared to many I have used and tested elsewhere. Even the nice logo on the end of the cable has a quality feel to it.

This cable was purchased to connect my new 2010 MacBook Pro to my Samsung DLP TV's second HDMI port. I needed a fully capable HDMI cable to allow my new MacBook to transmit full video and audio. I was very pleased, but not surprised, to find that this affordable cable performs as well as those ridiculously priced Monster (or similar) cables.

If you have a Palm TX and you're looking for a compatible SDHC card, then this is for you.

Power SDHC sees with no troubles this card and Pocket Tunes reads all songs stored in there.

The only bad thing in this combination is when you search a particular song, it's SO slow, but that it's a Palm TX issue, not a Kingston issue...

I purchased a Z915 camera package, and I read that the shutter speed is average--and that means, it is sometimes slow. One of the customer reviews suggested this type of memory card. It works excellent, and I'm very pleased with the number of pictures I can take with it. The only thing I found tricky was the unlock slide on the memory card. I still have yet to figure it out. Thankfully, I can formatt the memory card on my camera!

Love everything about this cover except for the brightness and coverage of the light. I would like to see the light to be abit more brighter so I can see the keyboard characters and also to light up the screen better. While the lower part of the screen is somewhat lit, it is fairly dim for me. If I need to use the keyboard I cannot see what I am pushing.

Other than that I find this cover to be really nice. Love the steel blue color. I would like to see a strap or something to hold your hand in while reading. Guess I am spoiled by the M-edge platform and the pocket to slip my hand in while holding it.

I am a merchant navy Chief Engineer and I read a lot to spent the time during my months at sea. I live in Thailand where English books are very limited available.
I used to buy a stack of books on airports where I passed to join a vessel anywhere in the world and where English books are sold (like Johannesburg) to have reading matter on board. Once I had 17 books with me and after 3 months I was through them. Upon leaving the ship, most of the times I had to leave the books there as they put too much weight to my luggage.
Now with my Kindle DX I have more than 300 books with me, no more quick browsing in an airport bookstore, I just can select what I want comfortable in my home as Thailand is fully covered by the whispernet.
Moreover, I have subscribed myself to several magazines and they are automatically uploaded to my Kindle when I reach several ports. I can read them about the time of release and do not have to wait until I come home and find a 4 month stack of magazines waiting for me.
I needed some information from the internet and to my surprise it was possible to get to the internet from the ship with my Kindle DX in Apapa, Nigeria and get the information I needed.
Regarding my job, I can put manufacturer's manuals on my Kindle in PDF format in my office and show them to my engineers when they are on the job in the engineroom to give proper instructions or clarify things for them from the drawings.

Other features like the easy access to the dictionary is great, access to the internet is slow but I appreciated it very much when normal computers were not available or in hotels without internet availability.
Unfortunately, the Text to Speech feature is lost to me as a non native English speaker.

I had never expected it would become such a big part of my life. I enjoy it every day, not only on board of ships as was my intention but also at home.
