Moving straps Above All Co. L74995CN Forearm Forklift Lifting Straps Overall these work well. Only bad thing is my husband and brother-in-law were moving our armoir. They tried the "criss cross" method - you place the straps across each other underneath the piece of furniture so it forms an 'x' My husband's strap slipped, armoir fell on his feet and broke 1 of his big toes! : ( Sooo as long as you use the straps the "normal" way, I would reccommend. They do relieve a lot of strain on your back and leverage the weight well. POSTED AT SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 05, 2010 126 COMMENTS Wonderful Lantern. Rayovac SE3DLN Sportsman Extreme 300-Lumen 3D-Battery LED Lantern This lantern is very bright and excellent for camping or emergency use. The size is smaller than it looks in the picture, so it is easy to carry. Besides, given the price, this is definitely a good buy. I would recommend it to any friends who are looking for a good lantern. POSTED AT SUNDAY, AUGUST 29, 2010 63 COMMENTS Where the rubber meets the road? Drill bits meet the wood/metal? Makita LCT203W 10.8-Volt Compact Lithium-Ion Two-Piece Combo Kit The 5 stars is out of fairness to a kit that has not been used yet; I'll edit later, as deserving. It just arrived and I've been looking for drill bits since then. I see all the glowing reviews and only a couple of mentions that you have to use hex shank drill bits. I only read a dozen reviews before ordering, practically salivating over the great reviews. I did not realize the drill would also be a hex drive and that there's a truly limited drill bit selection on the market. The quality of most two-piece bits has been called into question on reviews of those bits. I am considering buying the adapt-a-drive keyed chuck (by Jacobs) so I can use the vast array of round bits already on hand and I did buy a set of Ryobi TiN coated bits with hex drives to try (hmmm????). I have gobs of driver stuff on hand and found that most sets only provide 5 or 6 drill bits with 30 pcs of redundant driver parts. I'd love to know how others are getting so much happy drilling done?? Thanks for any advice/input on the real business end of the work, now that we all know the units are GREAT. About ten guitars too, this stud finder works for me. These are powerful little neodymium magnets, if someone has a pacemaker I'd probably caution against them personally using this as neodymium magnets are said to possibly interfere with pacemakers. POSTED AT MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 06, 2010 93 COMMENTS Nice Dewalt DPG82-11C Concealer Clear Anti-Fog Dual Mold Safety Goggle These are the best safety glasses/goggles I've yet owned.
I got them for mowing, weed-wacking, and yard work in general, with the idea that they'd help keep the dust out of my eyes, which they do very well. Very wide, unobstructed field of view, very comfortable to wear for hours on end. The product description doesn't mention it, but they fit comfortably over my glasses. They might not fit over *any* glasses, but mine are average sized, so unless you wear the Buddy Holly-style horn rimmed glasses, or big aviators, you'll probably be fine. Don't forget to pick up a pair of this item's tinted brother: Dewalt DPG82-21C Concealer Smoke Anti-Fog Dual Mold Safety Goggle POSTED AT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 04, 2010 403 COMMENTS Hearing protection for a Woodworker Peltor H10A Optime 105 Over-the-Head Earmuff Best hearing protection I've used. I believe these are the best Earmuffs for power-tools for under $100. They are quite comfortable, durable, and seem like an excellent value. I am able to wear them for long periods of time (an hour) without discomfort. I highly recommend the Peltor H10A.
POSTED AT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 07, 2010 204 COMMENTS Great but not perfect. Waste King L-8000 Legend Series 1 HP Continuous Feed Operation Waste Disposer I purchased this as a replacement for a builder's grade 1/4 HP. I expected a few more difficulties getting this put in but it wasn't bad at all. Luckily the previous system had a quick mount release so I didn't have to replace the entire flange and assembly. It didn't feel fully seated when installing it, but its got a good seal. I'd have to attribute this just to the compression of the rubber collar. The only issue I had was the drain pipe needed to be cut down to match existing plumbing.
As for operation, its pretty quiet when running, but when it starts up if there's no food or water in the basin, there's a very loud knock as the blades are locking into position. Once it comes up to speed however, its super quiet, no matter what I throw down there. I have noticed as more and more garbage gets processed, this knock isn't as pronounced. I assume this is from the natural buildup around the blade mechanism. I would absolutely recommend this as a great, cheap alternative to one of the units from a big box store. THis was just enough to make the length I needed. It was a great price too. POSTED AT WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 08, 2010 122 COMMENTS Company Stands behind their products Streamlight 66118 Stylus Pro Black LED Pen Flashlight with Holster Streamlight is an awesome company and they stand behind their products 100% - what else could you ask for?
This flashlight was given to me as a gift by my son. I used it a lot and eventually the switch failed. My son told me they had a lifetime warranty so I mailed it in and 3 weeks letter I had a replacement light. Anybody who wants to complain about an inexpensive flashlight, even if it failed, when the company will replace it is nuts. This is the best light - it works GREAT and is the size of a pen. I love this company!!! POSTED AT TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 07, 2010 72 COMMENTS Works Great! Honeywell RCWL300A1006 Premium Portable Wireless Door Chime and Push Button My ONLY problem with this product is the fact that the battery included for the Push Button DID NOT work. I couldn't believe it! No power in an included battery?! What the heck?! I had to go buy a new battery. Worked great after that.
This is the first time I bought a wireless doorbell. I bought it for a 1st floor unit and it works great. I am going to buy another one for the 2nd floor unit. I tested it out in both apartments and it worked. I am actually kind of amazed. I was worried the range would be too great. Happy to be proved wrong. 1 - 2334 |
