I love this vaccum! Prior to this vaccum I had a Kirby for 12 years. It was time for a new vaccum. I love the way I can maneuver this vaccum. I mostly have hard floors and I wanted a vaccum easy to use. I use it almost every day. I hardly ever use the broom any more. The canister is extremely easy to remove to empty! Very smart! It transitions very easily from hard floor to carpet by pushing a button, even while it's moving!

Here's what the other reviewers have not mentioned that I have seen: it's quiet! You can hear the phone; you can even talk over it without shouting. With that incredible suction, this little thing is quiet. The maneuverability is incredible, variable suction a real plus, and yes, it will do rugs as well as a rug beater attachment. If this only lasts five years, and I have no idea about that, that means about $10 a year, or less than $1 a month for a great little machine and we'd get another one immediately.

We have animals here. Our three dogs have access to the house through a dog door and a barn with horses and goats and chickens out back guarantees lots of dust and dirt. Not on the floors. Not any more. We had a big Sears cannister and this does better, is lighter, and much easier to work with.

The cord is not nearly as short as I thought it would be considering some of the other reviews. It's just fine and changing plugs when I get into a different room is not a problem.

I highly recommend it.

Edit: we just tried to find replacement bags. Yes, you can get them here on , for over $4 APIECE! Bizarre and ridiculous. Great vacuum, ripoff on the bags.....the bags are small, which is to be expected for this small a vacuum, but come on, folks....that kind of price EACH for a paper bag with cardboard attached????

I love this vacuum. It is the best that I have ever owned. Was very easy to put together and cleans up the floor perfectly. I LOVE the pet hair attachment. I clean up the couch and chairs in minutes and works way better then all the other pet hair collector gadgets I have bought over all the years. The self propel makes it much easier to use with thicker carpet. Only complaint I have it that the belt has fallen off twice now, but only takes me about 3 minutes to slip it back on, why I only rated 4 stars. However, for how great the vacuum works, I can slip back on the belt every few weeks! You will not regret this vacuum. Works wonderful and has a great price tag.

These are the bags you need if you own the Oreck hand held.
I was surprised by the price which is way cheaper than from the Oreck site.
I need to get more before they're gone.

Great belts for Kerby. Not much else to say about them, there belts and they last.

I knew that filter needed replacing, but I couldn't find one anywhere. After stewing over buying original Dirt Devil filters or trying the aftermarket ones here, I chose to try the aftermarket filters. They work beautifully, and I haven't experienced any fit problems as one reviewer stated he had. Fast delivery too.

WOW - What a perfect invention for a mother of 3 toddlers. My floors are always covered in crumbs.... cheerios, crushed goldfish crackers, etc. After a long day I was always too tired to pull out the big vacuum. I can't believe how simple and easy this swivel sweeper is. I was totally skeptical about it (my parents gave me their extra one) and I am amazed at how well it works! It picks up all the junk off of my hardwoods, cleans crumbs up off of the carpet - basically it is a total sanity-saver and my house has never looked so clean! I'm tempted to buy these as gifts for all of my friends having babies. It is a MUST for families with "crumby" little ones :)

these new multi brush corner brushes wear out faster than the old two brush model where the bristles are actually sewn in.

The Swivel Sweeper replacement 7.2 Volt battery is like new after about a year of use.
