One VERY nice webcam
Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 with 1080p Video
This product has far surpassed my expectations. While it took a bit of work to set up, it wasn't really all that difficult aside from deciding what NOT to install, as several optional programs are offered. It pays to review the video clips for all of them so you can make an intelligent selection as to what you actually want for your particular needs. I consider myself to be an advanced amateur as I game quite a bit and have done several product installations in the past. But I don't do coding, or mess with BIOS, etc. (none of the dangerous stuff!)
The camera's video and photo quality is top notch. Tried waving very fast to see whether it could track without lag. No problem! This is a change from what I've seen in the past where the result would be very choppy. Also must highly recommend connecting with Skype (one of the optional programs) for keeping up with distant relatives and friends. You will find however, that the quality of transmission is highly dependent on both your or your recipient's connection and bandwidth. One of my sons was trying to use his laptop from Georgia with a card that makes his web connection. Lots of choppiness noted. Another one connected to me from Alaska. I'm in Indiana. We both have cable connections. Was outstanding and a great way to keep in touch. Also many fun toys to play with. Some of them are integral to the camera itself, some are on the optional programs.
My favorite so far is the Skype capability of making a box to show what is on your desktop then transmitting it to whoever you're viewing. Enabled us to play and record home movies back and forth with minimal learning curve. I went with the $2.99/month unlimited service plan so I could connect with my youngest son's cell phone. Otherwise, it's that magical price: FREE!
As for the webcam itself, it is truly high-definition, 1080p, no choppiness noted, outstanding color, easy to use once you get set up. The only idea I have for improving it is to make it wireless. Would be nice to be able to walk around with it and show things not in the immediate area of my desktop. Sound and microphone capabilities are also outstanding. Your results will of course depend on the quality of the rest of your equipment and how beefy your web connection is. Am using this with Windows 7 64-bit. Display is a Samsung 26" 1080p monitor. My speakers are Klipsh Promedia THX, and my computer is an Ibuypower running on an Intel Core i7 960, with 2 Nvidia GTX 275 video cards in SLI. I use Comcast's 16 Gigabyte cable service for internet. Overall, I give this product 5 stars. Gave it a 4 in installation, but that may be because it took me about 1/2 hour just to sort through everything and pick out what was most useful. Much better having to spend a bit of time shopping, however, than not having enough support built in, which has been my experience with several similar products.

Okay if you don't expect it to always work.
Logitech 2 MP Webcam Pro 9000 with Built-in Microphone
I am a pretty tech-savy person, but I can not seem to defeat this little webcam. When I first got it two years ago it worked wonderful. I use MSN Messenger and it was flawless. I did a computer reformat (Vista->Win 7) and when I reinstalled webcam it no longer works flawlessly. I have tried EVERYTHING. I read the forums, I got the new drivers/software, nothing seems to work. It is now VERY choppy (when it works) and all I get is a black screen on MSN Messenger. I was VERY happy with it until this problem. Maybe it is a Win 7 problem, I don't really know, but it's very frustrating.

It appears that if you take it to lowest quality it works better, but still not as good as it used to. It was not moved from it's exact same position, so I don't really know what to say.

Decent for the price
USB Webcam with Microphone and LED Lights - Metal Finish
This is a decent plug-and-play webcam for the price. The resolution is ok and it looks pretty clear after you manually focus it. The design is fairly slick looking, and it gets the job done if you're just looking for a good, cheap webcam for video-chatting.

Good Cam
Microsoft LifeCam Cinema
Great camera for the price! Neat features and it easily integrates with video sharing applications(Yahoo Messenger, Microsoft Messenger, etc...). I used it to take a proctored final for my online graduate class and it worked great!

Comment below for people new to web cams like I was:
Regardless of optimizations it still requires plenty of lighting at night, which is understandable. If you have a low light office you will probably need an lamp or additional lighting near your desk for good video quality at night. My overhead light just didn't cut it.

Worked great out of the box
Microsoft LifeCam Cinema
I had a Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 that would never work with win7. This worked right out of the box, as I expected it to. I haven't had any issues. I use it to skype and it works perfectly. For the price, this is a very good camera. When the logitech did work (for a minute or so) the quality wasn't as good as this, especially in low light.

Glad I got over the Microsoft label and bought it. Usually, I don't buy Windows if I can help it. But, because of conflicts with win7 and Logitech, I was looking for something stable. This camera is better than I thought it would be and the software less intrusive than I thought it would be. I DO NOT use Windows Live. It is an option. You DO NOT have to use it.

Great webcam; reasonably priced, abundant features
Logitech HD Webcam C510 with 720p Video and Swivel Design
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1CTH3AIYJF5O Our family is currently adding Skype to all of our mobile computers (two laptops and a netbook) because of an imminent need to add VOIP to our long distance communications options. Unlike the mobile computers, my primary computer, a desktop, obviously did not have an integrated video capture capability.

The Logitech C510 was a surprisingly easy solution. Installation on a Windows 7 machine took approximately five minutes. It immediately recognized and became integrated with the existing Skype software (which can then be lauched either via the Skype program or from a Skype button on the webcam user interface). The folding base sits steadily in the edge of a flat panel monitor. In addition to readily capturing video, it has some other fine features:
-"face follow"; if your head moves within the camera's field of view, it will automatically adjust the tilt and pan settings to try and keep the subject framed in the picture.
-an integrated microphone.
-it works well in a variety of lighting conditions and even in relatively low indoor light.
-in addition to enabling online multimedia communications, it can capture video for editing, emailing or one-click posting to Facebook and YouTube.
-captures still images (8 megapixel resolution).
-motion activated recording (with our without included audio).

The user software is very intuitive, and also includes bundled masks and avatars. Although they don't add to the basic functionality, they are both silly and fun.

You can spend much less or much more on a webcam; this one is priced right considering its ease of use and wide array of features.

USB 6 LED PC Webcam Camera plus + Night Vision MSN, ICQ, AIM, Skype, Net Meeting and compatible with Win 98 / 2000 / NT / Me / XP / Vista
I love this little webcam. There is a little button on top of it and if you press that, it changes the image from regular to black n white, sepia, and so on. I like it the best out of all 5 webcams ive had

AWESOME and Skype Compatible!
Logitech 2 MP HD Webcam C600 with Built-in Microphone
I read the reviews on as well as the Logitech website about this camera. I was hesitant to purchase because there was some criticism about its compatibility with Skype, which is the primary program I wanted to use this with. The Logitech web clearly shows that this camera is Skype compatible. I decided to buy it though while it was a lightning deal...best decision of the day! Installation was incredibly simple and didn't take much more than 5 minutes from the box to use. Most importantly for me is that it works flawlessly with Skype! The family we have video called with have all commented on the remarkable clarity of the picture. The other cool features such as avatars and other distortions make my young nephews laugh and laugh! I could not be more pleased with this camera with built in microphone!
